I have a photograph of my grandfather Arthur Ward, standing in the doorway of the Lincoln Arms, most likely some time in the late 19th century. I have little information about him but understand he was a publican and photographer. His name is on the board on the right (attached to the wall) – was he the publican of this pub? I thought he’d been associated with the Black Swan. I’d value any further information. He died in his forties around 1909 (I think).

Hi could you send picture and I will do a post asking people for memories. Usually this gets a response.

Ignore remark about the Black Swan. He was later publican of the White Swan in Stokesley. (Right bird, wrong colour and location!)
