This is an avert for the aerated waters of Lee & Green Ltd who had a factory in Albion Street, Spalding. It shows the layout of the factory which gives a feel as to just how vast it was. The brewery was built in 1824 and was the property of John Richard Carter of Spalding, solicitor and brewer, who sold it in 1846 to Henry Bugg the Younger and William Henry Bugg of Spalding, brewers. Later the premises were used as a guano store, and in 1890 were purchased by Lee & Green, mineral water manufacturers.

Comments:
Richard Starbuck – My 1st cousin Arthur Green lived at 32 Albion St. Arthur Green and George Ranyard Lee opened the Lee & Green Spalding Factory in 1885. Picture of Arthur Green in 1903. Not sure where 32 Albion Street is?
Keith Seaton – There were a row of cottages from the Fire Station passage in the 1940/50s even when the Albion Street Garage was there. The Lee & Green building next to the River was the garage workshops and not so very large with the rest a open area for parked cars next to Albion Street.
