  1. Hi Geoff, Firstly sorry for addressing you as Jeff!. Oops silly mistake..
Hey I’ve found a few very interesting items from the 77 old pages.. By the way regarding the interview with Captain John Turner, which was really interesting, he states that his ( Father-in-Law) Captain Thomas Royce introduced him to the Spalding Ship Society in circa 1859, well I’m puzzled by his statement, simply because Captain Thomas Royce, ( my Gt. Gt. Grandfather) was his STEP- FATHER, not his Father-in-Law.. In my Grandad’s will he says he owned the ” Sarah ” and the ” Laurel” , Cpt.Thomas Royce I mean. Captain John Turner, had the option to buy the ” Sarah ” when my Grandad died, and his Mum Harriett Royce, became the landlady of the Angel Inn, when she died Cpt. John Turner became Landlord of the ” Angel Inn”…

I would to be a member of the Spalding Shipwreck Society, have you got their address?. & where do I send a donation to you at the Forge, They are separate , I presume?.

Thanks Geoff, you’re doing a fantastic job… Kindest regards John W. Royce.

P.S. Could you tell me which Joseph Royce is in the studio picture I earlier mentioned, I think it must be my 4th. Great Uncle Captain Joseph Royce, he looks about 60 in the picture!, his brother ( I think ) was Captain Edward Royce.
