    1. Denise, have you any information on Woodruff White of Penny Hill or of Freda, his niece and daughter of Shep White?

      1. Hi Richard,

My great grandmother, Florence Mary Bailey, daughter of John and Mary, was born at Penny Hill Farm in 1885. Do you happen to be a descendent/relation please?

        Best wishes,

        Sandra Twitchett

    2. Does anybody know what Woodruff “Shep” White’s wife was called? Did the 4 White boys survive World War 1?

      1. Shep White’s wife was called Jane Meace. All four son’s made it through WW1. The youngest son, Woodruff Negus, was seriously injured (including loss of eye) at Vimy Ridge during active service in 1916.

    3. Would you by any chance have some family photos you could share with me? I am looking for any of Shep’s children, especially of his oldest son, Henry, and the three older daughters, Rose Ellen (Nell), Lucy, Kate and Fanny Jane.

  1. The date on the photo is slightly too early by few years. The youngest daughter (my husband’s grandmother) was born in October 1892 and is clearly not a toddler anymore.
